Got the receptacles on and wired. Honda doesn't run that well, I got to buy a new carb for it. Yes, I have tried rebuilding it but this carb was on a water pump and was in the mud most of the time, etc........ Put it to the test and I'm VERY satisfied with the outcome. Took a wile to build, but the wait was well worth it. Stay tuned for building the generator cover. Had a bad head cold, wasn't thinkin' real fast if you didn't notice. UPDATE- As of 4/28/11, this generator is unfortunately no longer together. The gas tank began to leak out the bottom and the inverter wasn't working out as I had planned. I hope to build another one with a better design and larger engine some time in the near future. Over 25000 views, thanks folks. BTW, is this video featured on another web site linked to youtube? It's gotten a lot more views than my other generator videos.

My site: sites.google.com This a step by step "hands-on" AC motor rotovertor conversion demonstration. I eventually got this motor to run at 180 milliamps at 120Vac with no load on shaft with a 9uf run cap. IN NUTSHELL: 1) Hook 3ph AC motor up to its HV 460V circuit shown on its label. (they usually use the 460V circuit with these 3ph type of AC motors in heavy industry and factories) 2) Connect AC power feed to only 2 of the 3phases, so that the AC power feed lines connect to line 1 and line 2 coming from the motor. 3) Connect run caps and start caps between line 2 and line 3 coming from the motor.. Note: Line 2 coming from motor shares a connection with one of the power-feed lines, and also one side of the AC run and start caps. 4) Adjsut run cap UF value to get lowest draw first at idle, and also when the shaft turns a load too. For beginners, run the rotovertor simply on single phase 120VAC grid power (or 240V if that is what you have in your country) Later on, run these on a DC to AC INVERTOR! Now you will then be running this motor on batteries - golf cart batteries are the norm, as they are a type of battery that can be discharged and charged everyday for 5years before they go bad - while regular car batteries can only do a few dozen discharge-charge cycles before they are no good. For very advanced work with a rotovertor motor, use pulse width, voltage and freqeuncy adjsutment so you can really nail a super effecient rpm, voltage and power level for the particular ...

Starting both engines on a Boeing 777-200 fitted with General Electric GE90-85B engines. Quick Explanation The engines are started using compressed air. At the engine there is a Turbine Starter. That's in basic terms a fan on a shaft. The air blows the starter fan around which, through a gearbox and shafts, makes the engine blades turn. When the starter has sped up the engine to a certain point, fuel is added and ignited and the engine starts. More in depth explanation Where does the air come from? The compressed air comes from the Auxillary Power Unit, aka the APU. The APU is a small gas turbine engine that is located in the tail of the aircraft. Instead of producing thrust, the APU drives an Electrical Generator and an air compressor called a Load Compressor. The compressed air travels along a tube, or duct, to both engines and the air conditioning packs. The APU is quite small and is started using an electric motor powered by it's own battery. The generator on the APU is suffecient to supply all the main aircraft systems with electrical power. The compressed air can be also used to operate the air conditioning packs. How does the starter work? At the engines there is the Turbine Starter. It is essentially a turbine on a shaft. The compressed air passing over the turbine makes it turn.
